Registered Nurse - IR​/Special Procedures

Job Summary:

The Interventional Radiology RN is responsible for delivering advanced patient care during interventional procedures within the radiology department. This role requires proficiency in moderate sedation, comprehensive knowledge of cardiovascular and procedural protocols, and adherence to certification standards.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' physical, mental, and spiritual needs prior to procedures.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Administer moderate sedation, monitor patient responses, and adjust care as needed.
• Maintain accurate, complete medical records and ensure documentation complies with regulatory standards.
• Educate patients and responsible persons regarding procedures, expectations, and post-care instructions.
• Demonstrate clinical judgment by recognizing and reporting changes in patient condition promptly.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Illinois Registered Nurse license.
• Maintain current CPR/BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Proven proficiency in moderate sedation and interventional imaging procedures.
• Experience working in ICU, step-down, or cardiac/cardiovascular units preferred.
• Strong communication and conflict management skills.
• Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
