Position: Adjunct Instructor of Nursing - (Continuous Post)

Adjunct Nursing Instructor

The Adjunct Nursing Instructor supports the nursing program by supervising student learning in laboratory and/or clinical settings. This role contributes to safe and effective clinical and/or laboratory instruction, guiding students in patient assessment, problem-solving, and planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions. The Adjunct Nursing Instructor supervises student performance and maintains compliance with program and accreditation standards. The Adjunct Instructor collaborates with the course Lead Instructor and clinical partners to provide a student-centered experience that prepares the student for nursing practice.

Pay: $600 per credit hour.

Note:

This pool will support instructional needs in a range of part-time, temporary teaching assignments, which may be offered during the day, evening, weekend, or in hybrid/online formats.

Essential Duties or Responsibilities

The essential duties and primary responsibilities below are intended to describe the general requirements of this job and are not intended to be an exhaustive statement of duties.

  • Facilitate student learning in laboratory and/or clinical settings by providing instruction, supervision, and guidance, while evaluating, documenting, and assessing student performance and clinical competency.
  • Supervise and guide students in all clinical/lab activities.
  • Review students' clinical/lab documentation and assignments
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and other course-related documentation.
  • Communicate regularly with students regarding course expectations, progress, and academic support resources.
  • Maintain regular communication with Lead Instructor regarding student progress.
  • Participate in required training, professional development, and departmental meetings as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and other college personnel to support student success and program effectiveness.
  • Maintain a learning environment that is respectful, inclusive, and supportive of diverse student populations.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications – Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing;
    Master's Degree preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical nursing practice experience.
  • Knowledge of nursing education and accreditation standards.

Certificates, Licenses, and Regulations

  • Unencumbered IL RN Nursing license
  • Maintain CPR certification and meet health record requirements as mandated by partnering clinical facilities.
