The PMHNP evaluates, diagnoses and treats individuals with mental health conditions. This provider performs psychiatric assessments, prescribes and manages medications, provides psychotherapy or supportive counseling, monitors treatment progress, and collaborates with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care. The goal is to help patients achieve stability and improve overall mental well‑being while managing ongoing psychiatric needs in an outpatient setting.
