IT and Solutions Principal

Overview

Gentex is seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT Applications and Solutions Principal to mature the application roadmap, strategy, and implementation for our enterprise applications. This role focuses on building elastic, sustainable solutions in a manufacturing setting and driving application innovation through APIs and intelligent technologies.

• Application Ownership
  :
  Execute the strategy and roadmap set by the director with input from cross-functional stakeholders. Define the application vision and develop short- and long-term roadmaps for internal teams and external partners, serving as the subject matter expert for the enterprise portfolio.
• Governance, Security & Compliance
  :
  Support privacy and security regulatory compliance and maintain data governance. Identify security and compliance issues and coordinate with legal and/or security teams to address them, focusing on data boundaries surrounding CUI data.
• Application Vision and Strategy
  :
  Define and champion the application vision, strategy, and roadmap for our platforms, considering Gentex’s longer-term needs and developing business cases and value propositions.
• AI Opportunity Identification
  :
  Identify opportunities to leverage AI/ML to improve user engagement, personalize experiences, automate processes, enhance content delivery, and drive data-driven decision-making.
• Requirements Definition
  :
  Translate market analysis and user needs into detailed product requirements, user stories, and technical specifications.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
  :
  Work with engineering, operations, business development, sales, finance, data science, marketing, and other stakeholders to prioritize, plan, and execute the product roadmap, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
• Performance Monitoring and Analysis
  :
  Define and track KPIs for applications, analyze data to identify improvements, and iterate on IT offerings.
• Technical Leadership
  :
  Demonstrate strong understanding of IT systems, architectures, and development processes, with an evolving grasp of technical concepts and their practical applications.
• Stakeholder Management
  :
  Communicate plans, progress, and results to stakeholders at all levels.
• Application Expertise
  :
  Serve as a subject matter expert for enterprise application platforms, future vision, and AI initiatives, internally and externally.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in application management, with a focus on application platforms and launching/managing digital products
• Proven experience identifying and integrating AI/ML capabilities into digital experiences
• Familiarity with business impact analysis and how it improves an application's resiliency
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical teams
• Experience working in an Agile development environment
• Experience managing vendor relationships to achieve outcomes
• Passion for innovation and interest in the evolving landscape of enterprise application technologies

• Experience with AI/ML use cases relevant to web platforms (e.g., personalization, recommendation engines, chatbots, content generation, fraud detection)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
