Basic Qualifications
Education/Training: B.S. or B.A. degree in related field preferred; specialized banking education and training.
Skill(s): Clearly communicates in English; proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations, communicative, and sales skills; demonstrated management and supervisory skills sufficient to manage a staff of more (usually) than seven (7) employees; thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank products and services; thorough knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures; visual and auditory skills;
valid driver's license, as well as proof of auto insurance.
Experience: A minimum of five (5) years' related experience normally required.
General ResponsibilitiesResponsible for managing the Branch Office in order to meet the financial services needs of customers in the assigned community market area; implementing strategies to achieve goals developed for the office as part of the Bank’s overall strategic plan; ensuring the office's compliance with operating policies and procedures and outside regulatory requirements; directly supervising assigned personnel; communicating with appropriate management and staff personnel;
providing periodic reports.
- Works with management in establishing growth, sales, and profit objectives for the branch; provides input to these objectives and to the manner in which performance will be measured and controlled.
- Ensures that the branch office is properly staffed and that the staff is trained to meet customer service needs as well as sales objectives.
- Makes certain that all office operations are performed in accordance with established Bank policies and procedures, either directly or through appropriate supervisor, e.g., branch balancing, control of vault cash, etc.; makes recommendations for changes/improvements as appropriate.
- Works across business units for the proper security, maintenance, and cleanliness of the branch; supervises the opening and closing of the building and vault; makes necessary provisions for the securing and accounting of negotiable items.
- Maintains current knowledge of federal and state regulations pertinent to branch office operations.
- Maintains records and prepares required monthly reports.
- Monitors overdrawn checking accounts and delinquencies.
- Communicates with other Bank departments to assist in answering questions and resolving issues.
- Makes certain that all Universal Bankers are adequately trained both with respect to product knowledge, selling techniques, fraud solutions and Bank’s CRM.
- Ensures that all reporting information is provided on a timely basis.
- Conducts regularly scheduled huddles and one-on-one staff meetings; actively encourages staff to build customer relationships.
- Serves as an active member of the office customer service team and is held accountable for sales performance; refers customers to other Bank departments as appropriate.
- Interacts with senior management and other Bank officers to further expand existing customer relationships and develop new contacts.
- Maintains a working knowledge of the Bank’s lending and credit policies and answers customer questions as appropriate; takes consumer loan applications.
- Partner with the Bank’s Business Relationship Officer to make sales calls on present and prospective customers within the brance's market area.
- Performs platform duties as needed.
