Job Description
The Army National Guard uses a wide range of systems that help protect and serve the force, and as a Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment Repairer, you’ll be in charge of making sure those systems keep running at peak performance.
As a Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment Repairer, you will support the maintenance of chemical decontamination equipment and quartermaster machinery. You will train to maintain laundry and bath equipment, pumps, engines, burners, filter units, and water purification units. Your skills will contribute to maintaining special purpose equipment, decontamination and protective filter systems, smoke generator systems, and chemical electrical systems.
Job Duties- Service internal combustion engine ignition/fuel/cooling/electrical systems
- Perform damage assessment and repair
- Support maintenance of chemical decontamination equipment and quartermaster machinery, including laundry and bath equipment, pumps, engines, burners, filter units, and water purification units.
- Maintain special purpose equipment, decontamination and protective filter systems, smoke generator systems, and chemical electrical systems.
- Internal combustion engine theory
- Training through 10 weeks of Basic Training and 12 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) on marine engine maintenance and repair.
Get paid to train while developing skills for a civilian career in marine transportation, commercial fishing, oil exploration, or oil drilling industries. Earn a regular paycheck and qualify for tuition assistance.

- Must be a member of the Army National Guard.
- Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate.
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 35.
- Must pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
