IOS Care is looking for an experienced, motivated and ambitious Children & Young People’s Manager to join our growing organisation.

This is an exciting management opportunity for someone who wants to take responsibility for two developing areas of our business: our busy children’s staffing agency, supplying experienced care and support staff to children’s residential homes, and our children’s domiciliary care service, supporting children and young people within their own homes and communities.

The successful candidate can be based from either our Cardiff or Barry office, depending on their preference.

The Role

As Children & Young People’s Manager, you will take a lead role in the day-to-day management, quality and development of our children’s services.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Managing and developing our busy children’s recruitment and staffing agency.

* Coordinating the placement of suitably experienced and compliant staff into children’s residential homes.

* Managing and developing our children’s domiciliary care service.

* Building positive professional relationships with local authorities, commissioners, social workers, children's homes and other organisations.

* Responding to new referrals and assessing whether IOS Care can safely and appropriately meet the needs of children and young people.

* Overseeing care and support packages and ensuring they are delivered safely and effectively.

* Supporting the recruitment, induction and ongoing development of children's support workers.

* Ensuring appropriate staffing levels and continuity of care.

* Monitoring staff performance, competency, training and compliance.

* Ensuring safeguarding concerns are recognised, reported and managed appropriately.

* Maintaining high standards of record keeping, care planning, risk assessment and quality assurance.

* Working closely with senior management to identify opportunities to develop and grow our children’s services.

* Ensuring services operate in accordance with relevant Welsh legislation, regulatory requirements and best practice.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must:

* Hold a Level 5 qualification in Children and Young People, or currently be working towards an appropriate Level 5 qualification.

* Be appropriately registered with Social Care Wales (SCW).

* Have relevant experience working within children and young people’s services.

* Have a good understanding of safeguarding children and young people.

* Have strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.

* Be confident managing staff and dealing professionally with external organisations.

* Hold a full driving licence and be able to drive, as travel will be required as part of the role.

* Be committed to delivering safe, person-centred and outcome-focused services for children and young people.

Experience with in children’s residential care, domiciliary care, staffing/recruitment agencies or service management would be particularly advantageous.
