Job Description & How to Apply Below

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional hospitality and creating memorable events for every guest? We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our Conference & Banqueting team.

At Marriott, we believe the smallest details can make the biggest difference. From the first welcome to the final goodbye, you will play an important role in ensuring our events run smoothly, our guests feel looked after and every experience reflects our Brand Standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare meeting rooms and event spaces to the required specifications, ensuring presentation is consistently aligned with Brand Standards and Event Satisfaction Survey (ESS) criteria.
  • Provide a warm, professional and concise meet and greet for event organisers, establishing a positive relationship from the beginning of their event.
  • Review and deliver all requirements detailed within the Banquet Event Order (BEO), ensuring every element is completed accurately and on time.
  • Deliver Conference & Banqueting service standards consistently, creating a seamless experience for event organisers and guests.
  • Ensure buffet and coffee stations are presented to a high standard and maintained throughout service in line with ESS and Brand Standards.
  • Conduct a professional close-of-day meeting with event organisers, including accurate presentation and review of the final bill where required.
  • Ensure all charges are accurately recorded, correct billing procedures are followed and all revenue is captured on a daily basis.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate operational stock levels, including stationery, crockery and other Conference & Banqueting supplies.
  • Conduct weekly meeting room audits, ensuring event spaces remain aligned with Marriott Brand Standards.
  • Review ESS satisfaction feedback and audit results, identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting the development of appropriate actions.
  • Consistently deliver and promote Marriott service standards, ensuring they are embedded within the daily operation.
  • Actively support and promote the ESS concept, using guest feedback to continually improve the event experience.
  • Respond professionally and efficiently to guest concerns or complaints, resolving these wherever possible and escalating matters outside your area of responsibility to the Conference & Banqueting Team Leader, Duty Manager or Operations Manager.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the hotel to ensure events are delivered smoothly and guest expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and communicate clearly, positively and professionally with guests, event organisers and colleagues at all times.
Key Controls and Cash Handling:
  • Follow all hotel procedures for the secure issue, use, handover and return of keys and cash floats.
  • Ensure all keys and floats are signed for when issued and returned, with the appropriate Front Office countersignature completed where required.
  • Keep issued keys secure and in your possession throughout your shift, or stored within an approved secure and lockable location.
  • Never remove hotel keys from the property without appropriate authorisation from the General Manager.
  • Ensure keys relating to cash boxes, drawers, bedrooms, offices and other restricted areas are only held by the associates authorised and responsible for them.
  • Where a reception safe is in operation, ensure safe keys remain securely in the possession of the associate responsible for the safe.
  • Ensure safes are never left open or unattended, keys are never left in the lock and cash held does not exceed the relevant insurance limit.
  • Take responsibility for any cash float signed out to you and ensure it remains secure throughout your shift.
  • Keep cash, cash boxes and cash drawers secure and locked whenever they are not in use.
  • Do not allow unauthorised individuals access to cash floats, keys or other controlled items.
  • Balance individual cash floats accurately at the end of each shift.
  • Count cash only in secure areas away from public access. In the event of an interruption, return cash to the safe and secure it before attending to anything else.
  • Ensure outlet pay-ins made at Reception are appropriately countersigned by the Reception…
