The Opportunity
We are looking for a talented mid-career Fluvial Geomorphologist to join our Midlands and West team in Cardiff, Bristol or Birmingham. This is an opportunity to shape projects that improve river health, community resilience and sustainable water management. You will be part of a growing multidisciplinary team delivering work across water, flood risk management and river restoration, where geomorphology is integral to successful project development and delivery.
You will work with engineers and hydraulic modellers to embed geomorphological thinking across projects, from options appraisal to outline and detailed design. The role includes leading on the technical delivery of river restoration projects, undertaking site surveys, and preparing technical reports and assessments, including sediment studies, geomorphological risk reviews and Water Framework Directive compliance assessments. You will collaborate with hydrologists, ecologists, engineers, clients, regulators and contractors, using strong communication skills to turn specialist knowledge into practical solutions.

Is this role right for you?- Degree in geography, environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline. Progress towards or achievement of chartership with a relevant professional institution (Desirable)
- Strong technical expertise in fluvial geomorphology and river processes.
- Experience applying geomorphological knowledge to river restoration, water management or flood risk projects.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and supporting projects from options appraisal through to outline and detailed design.
- Ability to undertake site survey work and prepare clear, high-quality technical reports and assessments.
- Full UK driving licence.
