Job Description & How to Apply Below

Here for people. Here for communities. Here for you.

Make a difference every day as a Compliance and Health & Safety Operative at Hafod.

This role will take responsibility for ensuring our sites comply with Health and Safety requirements and undertake compliance testing. This will include fire safety checks; legionella checks and everything in between. You’ll help make sure we meet all the right standards and more importantly, help keep people safe.

Our team will be working together across the south Wales region to support the wide range of Hafod's care homes and schemes across Bridgend, RCT, Torfaen, Cardiff, Newport, Cwmbran etc. Although each role will be assigned a geographical area, the overall expectation for team members is a willingness to work together responding to the needs of the business as they arise.

It’s hands on rewarding work where you can genuinely make a difference to the people you support, and no two days are ever the same.

We put people first, offering great training, supportive teams and opportunities to grow your career in care.

Please note:

We’re unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

This role involves travelling independently across our sites and services as part of day-to-day duties. You may have access to a company vehicle, but for most roles you’ll need to use your own vehicle. Because of this, you’ll need to hold a full, valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle. If you use your own vehicle for work, you’ll also need appropriate insurance (for example business use).

What you’ll be doing
  • Carry out day-to-day estate and property maintenance tasks to keep our communities safe, clean, and well maintained.
  • Work closely with colleagues and residents to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service.
  • Identify and report maintenance issues, taking appropriate action where required.
  • Use IT systems to complete records and update job information accurately.
  • Help ensure our estates meet health, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • You can find the full job description attached for a more detailed overview of the role.
What you'll need
  • A positive, reliable, and customer-focused approach.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic IT skills and a willingness to learn new systems (full training provided).
  • The ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
  • A practical, proactive attitude with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
Support and adjustments

We’re committed to ensuring a fair and inclusive recruitment process. If you need any reasonable adjustments or support at any stage, please let us know and we'll be happy to help.
