Temporary position | Full-time | 35 hours per week
We are seeking a qualified Electrician to join our education client's Estates and Facilities team on a temporary basis. Working in a busy and varied environment, you will provide a high-quality electrical maintenance service across a large and diverse site. You will be responsible for carrying out reactive and planned maintenance tasks, helping to ensure buildings, facilities, and services remain safe, operational, and well maintained.
This is a fast-paced role where no two days are the same, offering the opportunity to work as part of a skilled maintenance team while delivering excellent service to customers and colleagues.
About youWe are looking for an experienced Electrician who can work confidently both independently and as part of a team.
- A recognised electrical apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent electrical qualification.
- 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations qualification.
- JIB AM2 qualification.
- Experience working within a reactive maintenance environment.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- The ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure.
- A willingness to participate in an out-of-hours 1 week in 5 on-call rota.
A valid driving licence is required for this role due to the need to travel between sites using company vehicles.
Hours of workWorking hours are normally:
- Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm
- 35 hours per week
- One-hour unpaid lunch break
The role includes participation in a mandatory 1 week in every 5 on-call rota, which involves:
- Working an additional hour each weekday from 4pm-5pm, Monday to Friday during your on-call week.
- Providing standby and call-out cover from 8am Saturday to 8am Monday.
- Additional work completed during call-out periods will be paid in line with the organisation's enhanced overtime policy.
This is a site-based role, with duties carried out across the organisation's locations. Flexibility and a commitment to providing an excellent service are essential.
