Foreman/Shuttering Carpenter in Cardiff Overview We are seeking a skilled and experienced Foreman/Shuttering Carpenter to join our team in Cardiff.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional with a strong background in shuttering carpentry and leadership to contribute to high-quality construction projects.

The ideal candidate will possess a valid CSCS card and demonstrate a commitment to safety, precision, and teamwork.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage a team of carpenters and laborers on-site, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to project timelines.
  • Interpret and execute technical drawings and plans to construct formwork and shuttering for concrete structures.
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Coordinate with site managers and other trades to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Provide hands‑on support in shuttering carpentry tasks as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials, progress, and any issues encountered on‑site.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Foreman and/or Shuttering Carpenter in the construction industry.
  • Valid CSCS card is mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of shuttering carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in construction.
  • Problem‑solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
Day-to-Day
  • Leading and supervising the on‑site team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Constructing and assembling formwork for concrete structures, including walls, columns, and slabs.
  • Monitoring progress and addressing any challenges or delays promptly.
  • Ensuring all team members adhere to safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborating with other trades and site management to maintain project efficiency.
  • Conducting quality checks to ensure all work meets the required standards.
