Steel Fixers or Fixer and Mate

Bonvilston, Cardiff Overview We are seeking skilled and dedicated Steel Fixers or Fixer and Mate to join our team for a 4-6 week project in Bonvilston, Cardiff.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a challenging and rewarding project involving the construction of transformer (TX) bunds.

The role requires expertise in steel fixing and formwork/shuttering for reinforced concrete bases and walls.

Responsibilities As a Steel Fixer or Fixer and Mate, your key responsibilities will include:

Interpreting technical drawings and specifications to determine steel fixing requirements.
Constructing and securing steel reinforcements for transformer bunds, including reinforced concrete bases and walls.
Performing complex steel fixing and formwork/shuttering tasks with precision and attention to detail.
Collaborating with team members to ensure the timely and efficient completion of each base.
Adhering to all health and safety regulations on-site.
Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

CSCS Card: A valid CSCS card is mandatory for this position.
Proven experience in steel fixing and formwork/shuttering, particularly for reinforced concrete structures.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labor in a construction environment.
A proactive and team-oriented attitude.

Day-to-Day Your typical day will involve:

Reviewing project plans and preparing materials for the day’s tasks.
Constructing and securing steel reinforcements for one of the 10 transformer bund bases on-site.
Collaborating with your team to address any challenges or adjustments required during the construction process.
Ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Reporting progress to the site supervisor and addressing any issues promptly.
