We are hiring an experienced Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic to join our highly respected independent team in Cardiff. If you want a stress-free independent workspace, advanced diagnostic tools, an early afternoon finish, and strictly no weekends, we offer a £35,000-£40,000 basic salary, permanent Monday-to-Friday hours (07:30-16:30), and a proper technician-first culture.
The Rewards- Salary: £35,000-£40,000 per year basic (Positioned directly within our standard bracket depending on experience).

We provide dealer-level diagnostic capabilities alongside a friendly, supportive atmosphere where our technicians are respected as core professionals.
Your RoleAs a vital Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic in our Cardiff technical team, you will:
- Carry out routine vehicle servicing
, braking system maintenance, timing belts, and general mechanical repairs. - Use up-to-date diagnostic tools to systematically fault-find and resolve technical, electrical, and mechanical issues.
- Maintain precise and methodical standards to consistently deliver clean "first-time fix" results.
- Collaborate with a skilled technical team to keep the workshop running efficiently in a productive, stress-free environment.
- Qualifications &
Experience:
NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in Motor Vehicle Maintenance with proven experience as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic. F-Gas certification is preferred (or an interest in obtaining it). - Licensing: A full UK driving licence is essential.
An active MOT Tester licence is preferred but not required. - Equipment: Must possess your own hand tools for daily workshop repair tasks.
- Key Strengths: Strong work ethic, reliable diagnostic skills (engine knowledge is a plus), and attention to detail.
Situated in Cardiff, our facility offers an easy daily commute for candidates travelling from Newport, Penarth, Barry, Caerphilly, Pontypridd, Bridgend, Cwmbran, and the surrounding South Wales region.
