We are recruiting on behalf of our client, one of the UK's largest automotive accident repairers, for the position of MET Technician at their busy Cardiff repair centre. - Removal of damaged parts to facilitate repairs, ensuring correct and safe storage
- Inspection for additional damage and parts, coordinating with the Vehicle Damage Assessor
- Checking all parts for accuracy and availability to ensure smooth workflow
- Refit of vehicles post-repair, taking care to avoid damage to freshly painted panels
- Ensuring panel gaps and manufacturer tolerances are within specifications
- Replacement of mechanical components such as steering, drivetrain, and engine parts when required
- Resetting Vehicle Control Units using diagnostic equipment
- Adherence to health and safety regulations and internal procedures
- Maintaining tools and equipment efficiently
- Attending regular safety training sessions
- Supporting team members and prioritising workload effectively during busy periods
- Recognised qualification in automotive MET/vehicle body repair or working towards an IMI qualification is preferred
- Strong track record in vehicle body repair, strip and fit, or experience as a Vehicle Technician seeking a new challenge in body repair
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Skilled in carrying out duties according to job cards, manufacturer, and company standards
- Demonstrated initiative and organisational skills to prioritise tasks effectively
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues
- A UK driving licence with minimal points is essential
