MET Technician

Our client, one of the UK’s leading automotive accident repair specialists with multiple sites nationwide, is seeking a highly skilled Vehicle MET Technician to join their busy repair centre in Cardiff. • Flexible working hours - 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with start and finish times tailored to individual needs

• Remove damaged parts to prepare vehicles for repairs, ensuring safe storage and handling
• Identify additional damage and parts needed, liaising with the Vehicle Damage Assessor
• Confirm correct and complete parts are available before repairs commence
• Refit parts meticulously after repair and painting, ensuring pristine panel gaps within manufacturer tolerances
• Replace mechanical components including steering, drivetrain, and engine parts when necessary
• Reset Vehicle Control Units using diagnostic equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Follow health and safety procedures consistently and attend regular safety training
• Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in good working order
• Support the team with additional tasks as required

• Recognised qualification in automotive MET/vehicle body repair or working towards an IMI qualification preferred
• Strong track record in vehicle body repair, strip-and-fit, or as a Vehicle Technician interested in specialising in body repair
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure, meet strict deadlines, and follow job card instructions to manufacturer standards
• Proactive problem solver with excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload
• Capable of working independently or as part of a team, assisting colleagues as required
• Hold a valid UK driving licence with minimal points
• Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable but not essential for confident and motivated MET Technicians
