Training Specialist
- Full Time

CPARC is hiring a full-time Training Specialist at our main office in Carlisle with a starting pay rate of $17.17 per hour. The Training Specialist ensures Residential Services staff receive all necessary trainings to meet regulatory requirements and develop their professional skills. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, has strong organizational skills, and is passionate about staff development.
General Duties
- Scheduling trainings, tracking training dates, and coordinating arrangements for speakers, sites, and materials for ongoing staff training.
- Working with the Recruitment Specialist to onboard new hires smoothly and coordinate with program management on start dates.
- Providing and scheduling orientation for new hires, including required trainings such as Medication Administration, CPR/First Aid, Ethics of Touch, and ODP-required topics.
- Chairing the Residential Services Training Committee to plan, monitor, and improve training programs.
- Maintaining training records, including College of Direct Support (CDS) and Praesidium Academy databases.
- Ensuring compliance with Waiver and ODP-required trainings.
- Recommending or creating new training content to meet organizational needs.
- Coordinating monthly trainings for Residential Supervisors.
- Leading Residential Services events such as the annual picnic, holiday celebration, and other special events.
- Maintaining a flexible schedule to accommodate evening trainings and events.
Background Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in a related field preferred.
- Two years of training experience in a human services field desired.
- Comfortable speaking to large groups.
- Training as a Medication Administration Supervisor, First Aid/CPR instructor, and Positive Approaches to Aggressive Behavior is helpful.
- Computer literacy required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Valid PA driver's license required.
