Forklift Operator/Assembler
This role combines hands-on industrial hose assembly with forklift operation in a warehouse and production environment. You will assemble, test, and inspect industrial and hydraulic hoses, operate material handling equipment, and support daily production goals while working as part of a small, collaborative team.
Responsibilities- Assemble and test industrial, hydraulic, and fire hoses in accordance with written work orders and instructions in English.
- Manually assemble hoses and couplings using presses, crimpers, and hand tools.
- Inspect assembled products for quality issues and promptly report defects to a supervisor.
- Accurately count, record, and document daily production for each job.
- Meet or exceed assigned daily production goals while maintaining quality standards.
- Rotate through all assigned production and assembly jobs as needed.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and order pickers to move materials and products safely.
- Perform receiving and picking tasks, including material handling and inventory-related activities.
- Use RF scanners to support inventory control, picking, and material tracking.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the warehouse and production floor.
- Participate in an in-person interview and successfully complete a lift test prior to official start, if offered.
- Work collaboratively with a small team and support general labor tasks as required.
- Ability to read and understand written work orders and instructions in English.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to perform repetitive manual work in a physically active role.
- Willingness to rotate between different job functions and tasks.
- Forklift operation experience, including sit-down forklifts, is preferred.
- Experience with material handling, receiving, and picking is preferred.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment.
- Capability to work safely in a warehouse and production setting.
- Comfort working in a smaller team environment.
Skills & Qualifications
- Prior industrial, manufacturing, or hose assembly experience is a plus.
- Assembly experience is preferred, especially in roles combining assembly and forklift operation.
- Experience with reach trucks or order pickers is a plus.
- Experience using RF scanners for inventory, picking, or material handling is beneficial.
- General labor and warehouse experience are advantageous.
- Inventory handling and basic stock management experience are helpful.
- Comfort working in a new facility and contributing to building processes within a small team.
This is a contract to hire position based out of Carlisle, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
