Structural Steel Fabricator / Erector
Walnut Bottom, PA | $25–$35/hour DOE | Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
We are hiring an experienced Structural Steel Fabricator / Erector for full-time shop and field work.
This is not an entry-level welding position. We are specifically looking for candidates with hands-on experience in structural steel fabrication and/or erection. Candidates whose background is limited to production welding or general welding without structural steel experience will not be considered.
What You'll Be Doing
- Fabricate structural steel components including beams, columns, frames, supports, and related assemblies
- Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and project specifications
- Measure, cut, fit, weld, and assemble structural steel components
- Perform structural welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication work
- Erect structural steel in the field according to drawings and specifications
- Set, align, and install beams, columns, RTU frames, and other steel components
- Work with cranes, scissor lifts, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment
- Verify fit-up, alignment, dimensions, and installation quality
- Perform shop and field work on new construction and existing structures
- Follow all jobsite and shop safety requirements
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of structural steel fabrication and/or erection experience preferred
- Proven experience working with structural steel — not welding alone
- Ability to read and understand structural shop drawings and blueprints
- Experience fabricating and assembling beams, columns, frames, and structural components
- Experience erecting structural steel in the field strongly preferred
- Strong welding, cutting, fitting, and fabrication skills
- Experience working around cranes, lifts, and forklifts
- Ability to work independently and as part of a crew
- Strong attention to measurements, fit-up, alignment, and quality
- Safety-minded and dependable
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to complete pre-employment physical and drug screening
Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding position. Candidates must be comfortable:
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Climbing and working at elevation
- Bending, reaching, twisting, and performing repetitive physical work
- Regularly lifting up to 50 lbs
- Occasionally lifting or handling loads up to 100 lbs
- Performing manual labor in both shop and field environments
Compensation & Benefits
- $25–$35/hour based on experience
- Candidates with significant structural steel fabrication/erection experience may qualify toward the top of the range
