- Complete control wiring and trailer electrical system installation, including routing, connecting, and securing wiring to meet safety and quality requirements.
- Install, adjust, and verify trailer pneumatic systems and components to ensure proper function.
- Assemble and install steering components and wheel assemblies, ensuring proper torque, alignment, and safe operation.
- Perform trailer alignment to meet specifications and ensure safe, stable performance.
- Carry out general trailer functions such as fitting, fastening, and adjusting mechanical components as needed for final assembly.
- Use cranes and other lifting equipment safely to move and position heavy components during the assembly process.

- Apply basic mechanical skills to troubleshoot, adjust, and correct minor issues during assembly.
- Work in various physical positions, including on the back, knees, and overhead, while performing heavy lifting and manual tasks.
- Follow company policies and safety procedures, including adherence to the no-cellphone-on-the-floor policy and protection of proprietary information.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and handle tools, equipment, and materials responsibly.
- Participate in cross-training opportunities such as paint preparation, blasting, and potentially welding/fabrication as business needs evolve.
- Collaborate with team members and adapt quickly to a high-volume production environment with limited training support.
Essential Skills
- Experience in mechanical assembly, preferably in diesel, trailer, automotive, or heavy industrial environments.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and accurately use and read a tape measure.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools used in mechanical assembly.
- Basic mechanical skills with the ability to perform installation, adjustment, and repair tasks.
- Experience working with hydraulic systems, including fittings and hose routing.

- Ability to operate cranes and lifting equipment safely in an assembly environment.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work on back, knees, and in various positions for extended periods.
- Capability to work with minimal training and quickly adapt to the mechanical aspects of the role in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort working in loud, hot, and cold shop environments.
- Willingness to comply with a strict no-cellphone-on-the-floor policy and sign acknowledgment of this requirement.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in trailer repair, automotive industry, diesel mechanics, or transmission work.
- Background in an auto body shop or similar mechanical repair environment.
- Experience with fabrication and mechanical assembly in a production setting.
- Skill in torch and plasma cutter operation.
- Additional experience with electrical wiring, hydraulics, and pneumatics beyond basic requirements.
