Collections Specialist

Description We are looking for a dedicated Collections Specialist to join our team in Carlsbad, California. In this long-term contract role, you will focus on managing and improving collection processes for both commercial and consumer accounts. This position offers an opportunity to leverage your expertise in account management and billing collections to support financial operations effectively.

Responsibilities:

- Handle commercial and consumer account collections while maintaining clear and attentive communication.

- Manage overdue accounts by implementing effective collection strategies.

- Monitor account balances, ensuring timely payments and resolving discrepancies.

- Collaborate with internal teams to address billing issues and improve collection processes.

- Prepare detailed reports on account statuses and collection activities.

- Maintain accurate records of all collection efforts and interactions.

- Analyze credit and payment histories to determine appropriate collection actions.

- Identify and escalate accounts requiring further intervention or legal action.

- Provide exceptional customer service to ensure positive client relationships.

- Contribute to the continuous improvement of account management procedures. Requirements - Minimum of 1 year of experience in collections, including commercial and consumer accounts.

- Proficiency in credit and collection processes, with a strong understanding of billing collection.

- Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple accounts and tasks effectively.

- Ability to analyze account data and resolve payment discrepancies.

- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients and internal teams.

- Familiarity with account management software or tools.

- Detail-oriented approach to maintaining accurate records and reports.

- Proven ability to implement effective collection strategies.
