Role DescriptionThis is a full-time hybrid or on-site role for a Senior Accountant located in Carlsbad, CA. The Senior Accountant at 44 Pro plays a key role in managing the company’s accounting operations and ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting. This position is responsible for overseeing general ledger activities, preparing financial statements, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards.
The Senior Accountant partners closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that support operational efficiency and strategic decision-making in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. Experience with inventory, cost accounting, and manufacturing or e-commerce operations is highly valuable.
- Full responsibility for the preparation of general ledger journal entries for the month-end close and to close the books in a timely manner;
- Understand, analyze and complete balance sheet reconciliations, including explaining and reclassifying variances;
- Prepare management reporting on a biweekly basis and developing key performance indicators for each sales channel;
- Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements;
- Assist auditors by providing supporting documentation on internal process that is required for the audit;
- Responsible for all compliance related reporting, including sales/use tax, property tax, and income tax;
- Assist with inventory and cost accounting;
- Assist in process improvements, including documenting processes and procedures and identifying and developing internal controls;
- Ensure that accounting records and reports comply with accepted policies and procedures and government regulations;
- Assist with management reporting on a monthly basis and developing key performance indicators;
- Assist in the implementation of new phases of the new ERP tool;
- Assist the CFO with ad hoc duties and special projects
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, or Accounting from an accredited four-year college or university;
- 3-5 years of related experience (GL/month end close, financial statement preparation);
- Big 4 public accounting experience (strongly preferred);
- CPA or someone with all CPA requirements met, waiting to be certified (strongly preferred)
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and willingness to research and resolve accounting applications;
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to research and solve problems and reconcile difficult accounts;
- Highly detail oriented and organized in work;
- Ability to meet assigned deadlines;
- Ability to work independently, with all levels of employees and management, to maximize performance;
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot tables, V-/H-LOOKUP, and IF-THEN formula;
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written;
- Experience with Net Suite or similar ERP
