An opportunity exists for a results-oriented professional to be a member within the accounting function of the CAD Financial Shared Services Team (CAD FSS). This role is located in Franklin, MA reporting into the Accounting Manager. The role requires accounting experience in a manufacturing environment with an understanding of large ERP software systems including a solid understanding of US GAAP and SOX compliance principles with the ability to articulate to senior leadership.
The main focus will be to support the Staff Accountants of the Thermo Environmental Instruments and Thermo Scientific Portable Analytical Instruments businesses with the General Accounting functions utilizing fundamental accounting theories and concepts. - Assist with the month-end accounting close, journal entries and account reconciliations.
- The monthly tasks include but are not limited to:
Royalty Reporting, External/Internal Reporting, coding of Intercompany invoices, compiling and distribution of monthly non-trade Intercompany invoice to partners, contingent worker accrual, quarterly warranty reserve calculation, compilation and distribution of monthly external commission statements. - Coordinates weekly (SIOP) Revenue, Orders, and Backlog reporting to the B/U management teams.
- Assist with the preparation of the HFM FDM trial balance and CMR supplement upload.
- Contribute to the preparation of the reporting packages, taking advantage of opportunities to improve usefulness and efficiency.
- Supports reconciliation and journal entry binder completion.
- Runs monthly CoStar lease reporting for all North America Shared Service entities.
- Assists with the preparation for and participates in internal/external compliance audits and statutory audits.
- Ad-hoc reports and projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA / CMA an advantage.
Experience:
Experience with ERP systems at a G/L level;
Experience with Infor XA (MAPICS), Intuitive, Sage ACCPAC is preferred. Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) or strong aptitude for multi-dimensional financial reporting databases. Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment while meeting required deadlines. Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP concepts with proven technical accounting skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
