Staff Accountant

Our client is looking to add a Staff Accountant I to a growing finance team in Carlsbad. This is a great opportunity for an early-career accounting professional who has a solid understanding of the basics and wants hands-on exposure to general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.

You'll work alongside experienced accounting professionals and have the opportunity to expand your responsibilities as you become more comfortable with the company's systems and processes.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare basic journal entries and accounting transactions

+ Complete bank and credit card reconciliations

+ Assist with monthly account reconciliations

+ Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions

+ Maintain general ledger documentation and supporting schedules

+ Assist with month-end and year-end close activities

+ Research discrepancies and make corrections as needed

+ Prepare spreadsheets and recurring financial reports

+ Assist with audit requests and accounting projects

+ Maintain accurate and organized financial records

Requirements

+ 1-2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience

+ Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

+ Strong Excel skills

+ Familiarity with general ledger accounting

+

Experience with Quick Books, Net Suite, Sage, or similar software is a plus

+ Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn

+ Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy
