Accounts Receivable Specialist | Commercial Real Estate

Description

A well-established real estate organization is adding an Accounts Receivable Specialist to its property accounting team. This role is a little different from traditional corporate AR because you'll manage receivables connected to a portfolio of properties and work directly with tenants and property managers.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Manage AR activity for an assigned portfolio of properties

+ Prepare recurring tenant invoices and charges

+ Post rent and other tenant payments

+ Monitor tenant aging and delinquent balances

+ Reconcile tenant accounts and monthly statements

+ Research discrepancies between leases, invoices, and payments

+ Process credits, adjustments, and account corrections

+ Communicate with tenants regarding outstanding balances

+ Partner with Property Managers to resolve billing issues

+ Track collection activity and payment commitments

+ Research unapplied and unidentified payments

+ Prepare tenant account statements

+ Reconcile AR activity to the general ledger

+ Assist with monthly property-level reporting

+ Support month-end and year-end close

+ Maintain documentation for audits and financial reviews

Requirements

+ 3+ years of AR or property accounting experience

+ Strong reconciliation skills

+ Advanced Excel experience

+ Property management or real estate accounting experience preferred

+ Comfortable working with multiple accounts and deadlines

+ Excellent communication and follow-through

+

Experience with Yardi, MRI, App Folio, or similar software is a plus
