Senior Accountant - SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting

Senior Accountant specializing in SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting supporting Ionis' external financial reporting and internal controls.

Responsibilities include preparing quarterly and annual financial statements, supporting audit processes, ensuring SOX compliance, researching and applying U.S. GAAP, and drafting technical memoranda for transactions and new guidance. The role involves monitoring technical accounting standards, optimizing accounting procedures, and supporting special projects across the organization.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's in Accounting, CPA (or in-process), minimum five years of relevant experience including public accounting; strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Preferred:
Big Four experience, familiarity with SEC filing software (Broadridge, Clearwater), ERP systems (SAP), and financial tools (Black Line, Equity Edge Online, One Stream).

The position is hybrid in Carlsbad, CA, with onsite work required and involves managing multiple deadlines, with an emphasis on accuracy, analytical skills and the ability to operate in dynamic environment.
