Close collaboration with the Junior Graphic Designer, photographers, freelance designers, and cross-functional teams including marketing, merchandising, and e-commerce.
Main Purpose and Major Challenges of the Role
The Graphic Designer will support the creative department across all our brands, including Outerknown, Firewire, and Slater Designs. This role works cross-functionally collaborating with the Jr. Graphic Designer and Art Director on a wide range of design projects, from email campaigns and social media to digital advertising, print materials, and seasonal updates. The graphic designer will help ensure all creative across all channels is on-brand, high quality, and delivered on time.
Contributing across both digital and print, this position plays a key role in supporting marketing, retail, and product initiatives. Flexibility and a proactive mindset are essential, as priorities will shift between brands and project types based on business needs.
This role requires four days per week in the office.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Digital Design Support
- Assist in the design and production of digital assets for email campaigns, social media, website updates, and digital advertising.
- Ensure consistency across all digital touchpoints, maintaining brand guidelines while contributing creative solutions.
- Support in the creation of banners, digital content, and email templates for various campaigns.
- Help design print materials such as catalogues, point-of-sale (POS) displays, promotional materials, and other print assets.
- Assist with seasonal updates to print materials, ensuring they reflect the latest product offerings and align with marketing campaigns.
- Contribute to the T-shirt design process and help finalize tech packs when necessary, ensuring designs are production-ready and meet brand specifications.
- Work across both digital and print mediums to ensure cohesive branding and design consistency across platforms.
- Collaborate with Jr. Graphic Designer, Art Director and Creative Director to make sure all design elements align with the broader marketing strategy.
- Provide support in creative ideation and execution, assisting in various design needs as they arise.
- Adapt quickly to changing requirements and project timelines, ensuring smooth execution of all design deliverables.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining the design library of digital and print assets, ensuring easy access and consistent brand presentation.
- Help with the preparation and delivery of final design files to production teams and vendors.
- Collaborate with other team members, including marketing, product, and e-commerce, to create cohesive assets that meet strategic goals.
- Offer support in creative execution, from brainstorming to the final production of assets.
- ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years of proven experience in graphic design, with a portfolio that includes both digital, print and motion design.
- A strong portfolio of work spanning across digital and print.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD, After Effects.), Figma and other industry-standard design tools.
- Basic understanding of design principles for both digital and print formats, including layout, typography, and color theory.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple teams.
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring all work is on-brand and executed to the highest standards.
- Highly motivated, proactive, and eager to learn and grow in the design field.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to quickly and efficiently adapt across different styles to support a diverse brand portfolio.
- Experience with Asana and Microsoft tools is a plus
- Quality and Timeliness: Measure success by the quality of work produced and the ability to meet deadlines for both digital and print projects.
- Brand Consistency: Ensure consistent brand application across all digital and print materials, maintaining alignment with brand guidelines across multiple brands.
- Creative Contribution: Provide effective creative support that enhances the overall design direction, contributing to successful marketing campaigns.
- Collaborative Efficiency: Positive feedback from team members and stakeholders regarding collaboration and support on various design projects.
- Adaptability: The ability to quickly adapt to shifting project needs and assist with a wide range of design tasks.
