Classified (Non-teaching) Substitute Pool - 2026 - 2027 School Year

Job Summary

"On call", temporary. You may be called to work with little advance notice, for one day or multiple day jobs. Jobs may also be scheduled in advance via the Frontline phone app if available. Campus Monitors, Instructional Assistants, and Nutrition Services Assistants are needed the most at this time.

Avid Tutor $16.90/hr:

- Be currently enrolled in a college course OR have graduated from college within one year of date of hire Campus Monitor $17.54 / Campus Safety $20.75, Clerical (Office assistant $20.75, Admin Assistant $25.88 - $26.55, Attendance Assistant $22.36):

- Valid CPR/First Aid certification. Online certifications accepted. Custodian $21.26 - Experience in a school setting highly preferred Health Technician $24.08:

- Valid CPR/First Aid certification. Online certifications accepted.

- Voluntary, non-paid training required with our district nurse (can be done after applying). This training is subject to your spot on the waitlist. Usually scheduled around 8am Instructional Assistant $20.75 - $21.78:

- Valid CPR/First Aid certification. Online certifications accepted.

- Proof of at least 48 college units, an associate's degree or higher OR Pass an assessment provided by the Carlsbad Unified School District that demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to assist in teaching reading, writing, and math. Library Media Technician $24.08 (Not recommended to have by itself, as jobs are not available often):

- Prior experience in a library or library media center is desired OR voluntary training with a Library Media Technician prior to an approval. Nutrition Services Assistant $17.88:

- Valid San Diego County Food Handler's certificate.

- Negative TB test results less than 4 years old. No risk assessments will be accepted.

- Valid  - Signed Social Security Card - MANDATORY EMPLOYMENT DISCLOSURE EMPLOYMENT HISTORY SECTION;
