Engineer, Vehicle Packaging and Change Control About the role
The Packaging and Change Control Engineer will develop, design, engineer, maintain and update the overall vehicle packaging. The Packaging and Change Control Engineer will manage and organize vehicle engineering and manufacturing change process and control. The Engineer will work with all departments and design/engineering groups to ensure the most efficient vehicle packaging configuration and interfaces between all vehicle systems with considerations for installation and removal, tooling access and assembly, as well as correct system functionality and compliance with system requirements and regulations.
The Packaging and Change Control Engineer will organize and manage the Change Control Board meetings and reviews with all departments and individuals involved in and affected by changes; will manage the interfaces between systems and components.

What you'll do- Create and develop CAD layouts showing the full vehicle configuration and architecture focusing on correct and efficient packaging.
- Manage and develop the Change Control Board and Change Implementation and communication activity within Aptera. Organize Change design reviews, documentation, and approval processes.
- Track changes and organize them into the company systems to be accessible and known by all departments. Coordinate with all involved departments (Engineering, Manufacturing and Procurement) the change implementation process
- Fully active and work in CAD modeling to support various departments and/groups in their activities of design engineering and layout activities.
- Maintain the current full vehicle layout to the latest configuration, including approved changes and make sure the latest configuration is communicated to all departments and individuals
- Work with other groups/departments in coordinating the Change Over and Implementation process
- Highly proficient in CAD (CATIAV5-6) and specifically in creating, setting up and maintaining large assemblies of CAD models and configurations
- Proficient in CAD modeling (CATIA V5-6), able to read, interpret and operate CAD models, technical drawings, GD&T, and layout/packaging
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to efficient design and engineering
- Experience with the OEM change process, change control and change implementation processes
- Able to handle interfaces, integrate requirements from multiple groups/departments, and coordinate the change process.
- Experience in mitigating conflicts within the different departments and engineering requirements
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with automotive, motorcycle and tri‑cycle packaging and CAD layouts and configurations
- Knowledge and experience with highly efficient change and change control processes using advanced tools for managing the processes and implementation
- Experience of working with multiple groups and departments managing different requirements and systems
- Familiarity with series production processes and assembly as well as rapid prototyping builds and manufacturing
- Individual contributor while collaborating with other teams and individuals
- 4 to 6 years of experience in packaging and change control engineering with applications on automotive
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive or Manufacturing Engineering
