Research And Development Technician

Duration: 12 Months W2 contract with high possibility of extension based on performance and business needs

Pay Range: $27 to $35/Hour on W2

This position works independently to assist R&D engineers, scientists, and/or teams in the development and analysis of products, materials, processes, or equipment.

• Provides expertise in designing electro‑mechanical systems and fixtures.
• Interprets detailed schematics from R&D engineering staff to fabricate functional boards in digital, analog, and RF domains, and provides design feedback to the engineering staff.
• Utilizes design tools such as Solid Works and PCB design software (OrCAD, Altium) to develop electronic and mechanical fixtures for engineering evaluation, V&V testing, and production testing.
• Supports IPG prototype device builds for characterization studies and V&V testing.
• Responsible for tracking and maintaining all laboratory equipment in calibration and ensuring safety and compliance with the quality system.
• Responsible for organizing and maintaining the laboratory space.
• Operates autonomously based on existing practices, precedents, procedures, and methods; may provide input for improvements, such as updating the V&V test protocols and reports.

  Product, DMM, etc., and uses them with minimal support.
• Executes tests and troubleshoots test systems and products in production and at vendor locations, including external test houses for environmental and standard testing.

• Build Quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.

• AA Degree or equivalent work experience in related discipline and 5 years of related experience.
• Electrical schematics, layout, design documents, and electrical components.
• The electrical design work to help with testing and characterization studies and writing reports.
• Be able to communicate well verbally and in writing.
