Job Purpose
The Senior Design Engineer assists in the development of new medical device systems from concept to market introduction in accordance with FDA and ISO requirements.
Responsibilities- Execute a range of responsibilities within the Product Development team, including individual instrument and implant design and development.
- Lead projects and support project-critical responsibilities, operating independently as required.
- Generate implant and instrument CAD models and detailed engineering drawings using Pro Engineer/Creo.
- Create documentation to support designs per Design Control and Risk Management procedures.
- Generate and analyze test data and reports to verify designs meet functional and performance specifications.
- Interact with internal and external personnel to establish design inputs, uphold project plans, and achieve project objectives.
- Interface with vendors on technical issues during the manufacturing process.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to address product complaints, manufacturing challenges, nonconforming material reports, and related issues.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 2-5 years’ experience in the medical device field.
- CAD experience required (Pro-Engineer/Creo, Solid Works, nTopology or equivalent).
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with CAD software, Word, Excel, charting, flow charting, and graphing.
- Ability to use office equipment such as computer, telephone, fax, scanner, and copy machine.
- Master’s Degree in Engineering (Biomedical or Mechanical).
- Experience with additive manufacturing / metal 3D printing.
- Experience with nTopology.
- Additional medical device experience.

Salary and BenefitsThe anticipated salary for California employees is $91,000 to $110,000 per year, plus bonus and benefits.
