As a Test Technician based in Carlsbad, CA, you will play a critical role in ensuring that electronic and mechanical components meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. You will work closely with engineers to test and troubleshoot advanced avionics equipment, applying electronic theory and precise measurement techniques to identify and resolve issues.
What You Will Do- Set up and operate a variety of test equipment.
- Test electronic units using prescribed procedures.
- Configure and verify test equipment for special test requirements.
- Apply electronic theory to troubleshoot and develop solutions for complex problems.
- Identify problems, develop corrective actions, and implement them.
- Perform product testing directed by engineering specifications.
- Read mechanical drawings and use precision measuring equipment.
- Troubleshoot calibration and equipment issues.
- Analyze test data and produce technical reports.
- Inspect and verify materials, parts, and sub‑assemblies for quality and configuration.
- Write technical and administrative reports as required.
- Assist technicians and engineers in defining, analyzing, and solving problems.
- Support lean events and total productive maintenance (TPM) activities.
- Mentor less experienced technicians and promote team decision‑making.
- Interface with personnel from various departments on technical matters.
- High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED) plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Physical ability to transport and lift up to 25pounds unassisted, and to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Preferred: 2+ years of direct experience in electronic test and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of electronic circuitry and electrical components.
- Proficiency in interpreting assembly and test instructions, engineering standards, schematics, and engineering prints.
- Ability to operate electronic test equipment.
- Soldering and crimping experience is an added advantage.
