Job Overview
Under supervision, solves technical and logistical issues related to new programs. Works on projects from design into the production phase to ensure program success. Implements and refines fabrication methods and processes for complex R&D designs. Guarantees the supplier component and assembly quality in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The position requires a person to work as a leader and team member interfacing with Product and Industrial Design, Product Innovation, Product Performance, Program Management and Supply Networks, Testing, and Global Suppliers.
Roles and Responsibilities- Review design for producibility, liaison with suppliers, analysis of data, process implementation, testing of components.
- Create product specifications and process flow and control documentation, refine processes to achieve design intent including cosmetic finishing, establish quality criteria, determine supplier capabilities, audit supplier performance.
- Generate qualification and inspection plans, authorize production release of the product.
- Lead technical and integration aspects of product development including all components and processes; function as the technical lead and liaison between design, program management, and global suppliers.
- Oversee and track the creation of detailed drawings for new products, set target and limit samples for components and clubs.
- Manage component and club deviations; manage inspection gauges and fixtures for components and clubs.
- Implement and/or refine existing fabrication methods/processes for transition into volume production; monitor tools to ensure components meet design intent and specification.
- Generate tool and process releases to enable new products to go into volume production; test components for durability and coordinate component distribution for player testing and manufacturing pre-production testing.
- Assess supplier processes for process capability, work with the supplier base to drive corrective action based on incoming inspection and manufacturing floor feedback.
- Prepare test plans and reports, characterize key process parameters in suppliers’ processes, provide control plan.
- Solid knowledge and experience with engineering fundamentals and testing methods.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to collaborate with suppliers in an independent mode to solve technical problems.
- Ability to lead technical meetings and report project status.
- Experience with investment casting, forging, welding, metal finishing, coatings, and/or composites; injection and compression molding helpful.
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint); knowledge of Siemens Team Center Engineering useful.
- Knowledge and application of quality methods and tools such as Six Sigma, FMEA, Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Controls, Measurement System Analysis.
- Able to work extended hours in critical situations; valid passport required.
BS in Engineering or equivalent required. Minimum 3 years related experience.
Physical Requirements / Work EnvironmentWork performed in a designated professional office workstation. Extensive use of office equipment including computer, calculator, copier, fax, and business software. Occasionally required to lift and carry up to fifty pounds, regularly up to twenty pounds. Specific vision abilities required: close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
SalaryUSD 90,000.00 – – per year.
