Process Sustaining Engineering Technician
Job Description
The Process Sustaining Engineering Technician supports manufacturing operations by providing hands-on electromechanical troubleshooting, equipment support, and process improvement activities in a fast-paced, regulated production environment. This role focuses on identifying and resolving equipment issues, maintaining process stability, and ensuring accurate documentation of all work performed while managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing production needs.
Responsibilities
+ Support manufacturing operations by performing hands-on electromechanical troubleshooting on production equipment.
+ Identify, diagnose, and resolve equipment issues to minimize downtime and maintain process stability.
+ Perform mechanical assembly tasks as needed to support equipment builds, modifications, and repairs.
+ Conduct electrical troubleshooting to isolate faults and restore equipment to proper operation.
+ Interface with automation systems to monitor, adjust, and improve equipment performance.
+ Contribute to process improvement activities by suggesting and implementing practical enhancements to equipment and processes.
+ Create, update, and maintain accurate documentation of all work performed in accordance with regulated manufacturing requirements.
+ Manage multiple conflicting priorities and respond effectively to rapid changes in production needs.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support stable, reliable, and efficient production processes.
+ Travel between sites as needed to provide equipment and process support.
Essential Skills
+ Hands-on electromechanical troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
+ Strong mechanical assembly skills with the ability to build, modify, and repair equipment components.
+ Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting to identify and resolve equipment-related electrical issues.
+ Experience interfacing with automation systems to support and optimize equipment operation.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly to rapid priority changes in a fast-paced environment.
+ Strong documentation skills with the ability to create and maintain accurate records in a regulated manufacturing environment.
+ Comfort working in a regulated manufacturing setting with adherence to established procedures and standards.
+ Willingness and ability to travel between sites as required.

Skills & Qualifications
+ Prior experience in mechanical assembly, electrical troubleshooting, and automation system interfacing is highly beneficial, even for entry-level candidates.
+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate and complete documentation.
+ Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate clearly about equipment status and process issues.
Work Environment
This role operates in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment that emphasizes process stability, equipment reliability, and compliance with established procedures. Technicians work hands-on with electromechanical equipment, mechanical assemblies, electrical systems, and automation interfaces to support ongoing production. The position may require travel between manufacturing sites to provide on-site equipment and process support. This is a Contract position based out of Carlsbad, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $37.00/hr.
