Job Title: Radio Frequency Engineering Manager
Location: Carlsbad, CA
Employment Type: Full-Time Direct hire with comprehensive benefits
Compensation: $180,000-$210,000 + Annual Incentive Bonus
Schedule: Onsite, 9x80
Acara Solutions is seeking an RF Engineering Manager to join our client on a full-time direct hire opportunity available in Carlsbad, CA.
Responsibilities- Lead and develop a team of RF engineers, ensuring successful execution of technical, cost, and schedule objectives.
- Provide technical leadership for RF and mmWave system design, development, and integration across multiple programs.
- Manage engineering activities supporting new product development, customer programs, proposals, and internal R&D initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and program teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Develop resource plans, staffing strategies, and engineering workload forecasts to support business objectives.
- Oversee acquisition and management of RF test equipment, engineering tools, and laboratory resources.
- Ensure engineering processes comply with quality management standards and industry best practices.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering talent while fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Drive innovation by advancing RF and mmWave engineering capabilities and supporting the adoption of new technologies.
- Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master s degree preferred).
- 10 years minimum of RF engineering experience (8+ years with a Master s degree).
- 4 years minimum of engineering leadership or people management experience (2+ years with a Master s degree).
- Strong expertise in RF and millimeter-wave (mmWave) design and development.
- Experience leading RF engineering teams supporting complex product development programs.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
- Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability electronics programs.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams through the full product development lifecycle.
- Experience with engineering resource planning, staffing, and laboratory infrastructure management.
- Strong mentoring, coaching, and talent development skills.
- Knowledge of ISO quality management systems and engineering best practices.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with a track record of delivering complex technical programs.
