Acara Solutions is seeking an RF Engineering Manager to join our client on a full-time direct hire opportunity available in Carlsbad CA.

Our client is seeking a hands‑on engineering leader to oversee the design, development, and execution of advanced RF and millimeter‑wave (mmWave) technologies supporting aerospace and defense applications. This position will lead an experienced team of RF engineers while driving technical excellence, new product development, proposal efforts, and engineering innovation across a diverse portfolio of high‑reliability products.

• Lead and develop a team of RF engineers, ensuring successful execution of technical, cost, and schedule objectives.
• Provide technical leadership for RF and mmWave system design, development, and integration across multiple programs.
• Manage engineering activities supporting new product development, customer programs, proposals, and internal R&D initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering, manufacturing, and program teams to deliver high‑quality solutions.
• Develop resource plans, staffing strategies, and engineering workload forecasts to support business objectives.
• Oversee acquisition and management of RF test equipment, engineering tools, and laboratory resources.
• Ensure engineering processes comply with quality management standards and industry best practices.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering talent while fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Drive innovation by advancing RF and mmWave engineering capabilities and supporting the adoption of new technologies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
• 10 years minimum of RF engineering experience (8+ years with a Master’s degree).
• 4 years minimum of engineering leadership or people management experience (2+ years with a Master’s degree).

• Strong expertise in RF and millimeter‑wave (mmWave) design and development.
• Experience leading RF engineering teams supporting complex product development programs.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
• Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or other high‑reliability electronics programs.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional engineering teams through the full product development lifecycle.
• Experience with engineering resource planning, staffing, and laboratory infrastructure management.
• Strong mentoring, coaching, and talent development skills.
• Knowledge of ISO quality management systems and engineering best practices.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with a track record of delivering complex technical programs.
