Job Description & How to Apply Below

Palomar Technologies' Advanced Solutions Division (ASD) provides advanced engineering services to customers in the semiconductor, photonics, microelectronics, medical device, aerospace, and defense industries. Our engineers develop manufacturing processes, build prototypes, support new product introductions, and manufacture low-volume, high-value assemblies using world-class precision assembly equipment.

We are seeking a Master Scheduler & Capacity Planner who will build and own the planning function for ASD. This is not a traditional production scheduling role. Rather than scheduling repetitive manufacturing, you will coordinate a constantly evolving portfolio of customer development projects, engineering activities, tooling, prototypes, and production work across highly specialized engineers, technicians, and equipment.

Success in this role requires equal parts analytical thinking, organization, communication, and continuous improvement. You will become the central point of visibility for capacity, project timing, resource loading, and delivery commitments, helping leadership make informed decisions about priorities, staffing, customer commitments, and future growth.

What You'll Do
  • Own and continuously maintain the ASD master schedule across customer projects, process development, tooling, and production work.
  • Build and maintain a rolling 3-month capacity plan for engineers, technicians, and critical equipment.
  • Provide leadership with clear visibility into resource loading, bottlenecks, available capacity, and project status.
  • Translate project schedules into realistic delivery and revenue forecasts.
  • Identify schedule risks early and recommend practical recovery plans.
  • Partner with Engineering to improve routings, task structures, standard times, and planning master data.
  • Support the continued implementation and optimization of Epicor scheduling and planning capabilities.
  • Promote accurate labor reporting and estimated-versus-actual analysis to improve future planning accuracy.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools using Epicor, Excel, Power BI, SQL, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
  • Continuously improve planning processes and reporting as ASD grows.
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of scheduling, capacity planning, project planning, or operations planning experience in a high-mix / low-volume technical environment.
  • Experience scheduling constrained engineering resources and specialized equipment.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with Microsoft Project (or equivalent scheduling software).
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Epicor, SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, or similar.
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Experience That Will Help You Succeed
  • Semiconductor, photonics, semiconductor equipment, EMS, aerospace, defense, or capital equipment manufacturing.
  • Engineering-driven operations, prototypes, NPI, or process development.
  • Power BI, SQL, finite-capacity scheduling, resource groups, routings, and standard time development.
Why You'll Enjoy This Role
  • Build the planning function for a growing engineering organization.
  • Work directly with engineering, operations, and executive leadership.
  • Influence how projects are prioritized and executed.
  • Help shape the systems and processes that will support ASD's future growth.
What Success Looks Like During Your First Year
  • A trusted master schedule used for daily operational decision making.
  • Clear visibility into engineer and equipment capacity.
  • Improved planning accuracy and revenue forecasting.
  • Less firefighting and greater predictability across ASD.
Final Note

We are not looking for someone to simply update dates in a scheduling system. We are looking for someone who enjoys solving complex planning problems, creating structure in a dynamic engineering environment, and building the systems that enable technical teams to succeed. This is an opportunity to have a lasting impact on how ASD plans, executes, and scales its business.
