Job Purpose

Works under limited supervision, assisting R&D engineers, scientists, and/or teams in the development and analysis of products, materials, processes, or equipment. This person will report to the hiring manager; also, will be working with R&D catheter engineers and Techs. This is a tech lab environment / electrical, mechanical environment. There are no hazardous chemicals.

Key Responsibilities

This role involves R&D testing of medical devices (catheter components, subassemblies, as well as full catheter devices). Execute a wide range of tests including tensile testing, balloon fatigue and burst testing, and catheter functional testing. Perform development and design verification testing on catheter assemblies following written test methods. Work with engineers in the development of test setups and fixture implementation. Execute mechanical, pull tensile testing, flex testing, torque testing, and catheter insertion/retraction testing following engineering instructions and test methods.

Execute semi-automated testing with meticulous setup requirements. Attention to detail and the ability to follow protocols and capture data accurately is a must. PC knowledge/experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and file sharing/saving abilities are required. Ability to execute repetitive testing in nature for short/long periods.

Quality Systems Duties and Responsibilities

Build quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.

Qualifications

AA Degree or equivalent work experience in related discipline and 1+ years of related experience. Experience with tensile testing, microscopy, or electrical measurement equipment. Ability to operate complex equipment; quick learner. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Able to work independently with minimal supervision. Capable of reading and following technical instructions. Good problem-solving and organizational skills. Previous med device experience.
