Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Automotive Engineering, Quality Engineering
We are seeking an experienced Senior Chassis Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of vehicle chassis systems for an innovative transportation platform. This role is responsible for the engineering, validation, supplier collaboration, and production implementation of chassis-related systems and components.
Primary responsibilities include suspension, steering, braking, chassis structures, and other related mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and fabrication teams to transform concepts into production-ready designs while optimizing performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
This is a hands-on engineering position offering the opportunity to contribute to advanced vehicle development from concept through production.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and validate suspension, steering, braking, and structural chassis systems.
- Create and review CAD models, engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and analytical studies to evaluate system performance and functionality.
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners on component sourcing, fabrication, and production readiness.
- Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to define critical system requirements, installation processes, and vehicle integration.
- Develop and verify vehicle dynamics fundamentals, including kinematics, handling, stability, ride quality, braking performance, steering characteristics, and overall chassis behavior.
- Ensure chassis designs comply with applicable regulatory, safety, and certification requirements.
- Maintain design documentation and engineering records following established development processes.
- Support prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous product improvement.
- Strong experience designing and developing chassis systems for road vehicles.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software (CATIA preferred or equivalent).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and mechanical layouts.
- Knowledge of suspension, steering, braking, and structural chassis design principles.
- Familiarity with materials, manufacturing processes, and assembly techniques used in vehicle chassis development.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to engineering excellence.
- Experience with automotive, motorcycle, or other on-road vehicle chassis systems.
- Knowledge of vehicle dynamics, chassis kinematics, and simulation tools.
- Experience with manufacturing processes including casting, forging, machining, stamping, extrusion, welding, bonding, and assembly.
- Familiarity with prototype development, rapid prototyping, additive manufacturing, and production launch activities.
- Experience supporting products from concept through production.
- 5-7 years of chassis engineering experience within the automotive, powersports, commercial vehicle, or related transportation industries.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
