Mechanical Engineering Intern; Summer

What You Will Do

• Design, analysis and testing of precision optical assembles and visual display systems.
• Design and development of custom tooling and fixtures.
• Support product prototype development.
• Prepare technical documentation including CAD models, drawings, and procedures.
• Support trade studies and contribute to continuous process improvement activities.

With an emphasis on opto‑mechanical design, you will broaden your CAD skills while gaining experience in design, analysis and geometric tolerancing.

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co‑op session.
• Experience with computer aided design (CAD) tools such as Creo, Solid Works, and/or NX for part and assembly modeling.
• Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

• Experience with mechanical design fundamentals, engineering principles and GD&T concepts.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and/or Outlook).
• Experience working as part of a team to solve technical problems.
• Exposure to basic FEA methods for evaluating stress, deformation, or thermal performance under guidance.
• Experience with engineering laboratory practices, including prototyping, mechanical testing, and use of standard measurement instruments.

The salary range for this role is 42,000 USD - 88,000 USD.
