A growing high‑tech manufacturer is looking for a Cost Accountant to bring clarity, accuracy, and insight to its production and financial operations. This role works closely with engineering and operations teams to analyze product costs, improve margin visibility, and support strategic decision‑making. Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in cost accounting
- Experience with in the manufacturing industry
- Proficient in ERP systems (Epicor or similar preferred) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Well‑established manufacturing company in Carlsbad is seeking to add a Sr. Cost Accountant to the team! In this role, you will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing manufacturing cost data, inventory valuations, cost variances, and gross margin performance. This position requires close collaboration with Operations, Engineering, and Finance teams to ensure accurate costing, identify drivers of variance, and enhance cost visibility throughout the business.
Reporting directly to the CFO.
Responsibilities- Analyze product and manufacturing costs, including BOM accuracy, labor, overhead, and material cost updates.
- Review and reconcile inventory accounts, such as WIP, raw materials, and finished goods.
- Perform variance analysis and identify root causes with cross‑functional teams.
- Review quotes versus actual costs and ensure proper documentation for standard cost updates.
- Prepare monthly cost and margin reporting, including customer P&L cost views and site‑level performance reporting.
- Support monthly close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and cost roll‑ups.
- Review AR/AP conciliation related to cost items and support resolution of open items.
- Partner with engineering and operations on BOM accuracy and ECO impacts.
- Provide cost forecasting support and review planned variances.
- Support annual budgeting, audits, and ad hoc cost analysis projects.
This is a Permanent position based out of Carlsbad, CA.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $95,000.00 - $/yr.
