Position: Paraplanner (Associate Advisor) in Carlsbad, CA

Carlsbad, CA
Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Pay: $30/hour (W2)

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Paraplanner to support our financial planning team in delivering high-quality, comprehensive financial plans for our clients. This role works closely with advisors to prepare planning analyses, maintain data accuracy, and ensure all deliverables meet the firm’s standards.

The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative team environment, enjoys analytical and detail-driven work, and takes pride in helping clients achieve their financial goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather, organize, and verify client financial data
  • Build and update comprehensive financial plans, including:
    • Cash flow analysis
    • Retirement planning
    • Education planning
    • Tax strategies
    • Insurance analysis
    • Complex scenario modeling
  • Assist advisors with scenario modeling, investment recommendations, and plan development
  • Prepare pre-meeting summaries and support client meetings
  • Complete follow-up tasks and respond to client inquiries
  • Track planning tasks and deadlines across multiple client engagements
  • Maintain accurate client documentation and ensure compliance with firm processes
Required Qualifications
  • Degree in Economics, Finance, Financial Planning, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Strong team-oriented mindset with excellent collaboration skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage tasks independently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • CFP coursework completed
  • SIE and/or Series 65 license
  • Experience with financial planning software (e.g., eMoney)
