Systems Analyst, IT Support
The Senior Restaurant Systems Analyst is responsible for the administration, configuration, support, and ongoing optimization of restaurant technology systems across Islands Restaurants. This role serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for core restaurant platforms, with a primary focus on point-of-sale (POS), as well as inventory and analytics, labor scheduling, and other integrated SaaS-based restaurant systems.
Working within the Information Technology team and under the direction and guidance of the IT Director, this position drives the day-to-day reliability, configuration standards, and strategic direction of restaurant systems. The Senior Restaurant Systems Analyst partners closely with Operations, Finance, and external vendors to ensure restaurant technology solutions meet business needs, scale effectively, and support a consistent guest and team member experience.
This role requires strong technical expertise, operational awareness of restaurant environments, and the ability to balance hands‑on support with system ownership and continuous improvement.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :- Under the direction and guidance of the IT Director, serves as the primary owner and subject matter expert for restaurant systems, including POS, inventory management, analytics, labor scheduling, and workforce-related platforms.
- Administers, configures, and supports enterprise POS systems across all restaurant locations, including menus, pricing, taxes, integrations, user roles, hardware coordination, and troubleshooting of complex issues.
- Supports electronic tips management platforms, ensuring accurate configuration, reporting, and integration with POS and payroll processes.
- Administers and supports inventory management, including data integrity, reporting support, integration monitoring, and collaboration with Operations and Finance teams.
- Supports labor scheduling and workforce management systems, including user administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and coordination with restaurant leadership.
- Acts as the escalation point for Tier 2 and Tier 3 restaurant systems issues, providing guidance and recommended courses of action to IT support staff and restaurant teams.
- Partners with Operations, Finance, and Training teams to ensure restaurant systems are configured to align with operational workflows, compliance requirements, and business objectives.
- Leads and supports restaurant technology initiatives, including system enhancements, new feature rollouts, integrations, and vendor‑led upgrades.
- Communicates and accurately documents system configurations, standards, procedures, and support processes.
- Monitors system performance, stability, and data accuracy, proactively identifying issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Works with vendors and service providers for issue resolution, root cause analysis, roadmap discussions, and project planning.
- Travels to restaurant locations as needed (up to 25%) to support on‑site initiatives, troubleshooting, and implementations.
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (IT‑related field preferred) or the equivalent of 5+ years of relevant experience supporting restaurant or hospitality technology systems
- 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise POS systems in a multi‑unit restaurant environment.
- Experience supporting restaurant technology platforms related to inventory management, labor scheduling, analytics, and workforce systems.
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including front‑of‑house, back‑of‑house, labor, and inventory workflows.
- Experience working with SaaS‑based platforms and system integrations.
- Proven ability to serve as a subject matter expert and system owner for business‑critical applications.
- Experience collaborating with vendors, managing support cases, and coordinating escalations.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex system issues.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with restaurant leadership, corporate teams, vendors, and IT staff.
