Overview
Location: Carlsbad, CA
Position Summary: Hanwha Vision America (HVA) is an affiliate of the Hanwha Group, a Fortune Global 500 company. HVA is an industry-leading provider of advanced network video surveillance products, including IP cameras, storage devices, and video management systems, founded on world-class technologies. We offer end-to-end security solutions and have achieved global success across a wide range of industry verticals, including retail, transportation, education, banking, healthcare, hospitality, and airports.
We are seeking a results-driven Product Manager to lead the software and hardware related to WAVE VMS. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in VMS and COTS products, as well as networking, throughput, and the related technologies that drive key specifications in recording devices (NVRs). A basic finance & math skillset is also needed to calculate business cases, profit, etc.
Also key is a proven ability to collaborate across global cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results.
- Coordinate WAVE software releases with our OEM provider as well as internal test teams, sales, and other stakeholders
- Coordinate WAVE Recording Appliance releases with your counterparts in South Korea
- Coordinate WAVE Recording Appliance releases with 3rd party OEM vendors
- Based on market demand and specifically Hanwha customer demand, respond by introducing OEM recording appliances for the US Market
- Act as an escalation point for issues related to WAVE VMS or Recording Appliances
- Knowledge of Linux and Windows OS
- Product Strategy &
Roadmap:
Developing and maintaining the product roadmap based on market research, customer feedback, and business objectives. - Requirements Gathering:
Collaborating with stakeholders to define detailed product requirements and features. - Project Management:
Coordinating with engineering and design teams to ensure the timely delivery of features, balancing scope, quality, and deadlines. - Market Analysis:
Conducting competitor analysis and staying updated on industry trends to inform product decisions. - Product Launch & Lifecycle:
Managing product launches, ensuring proper positioning, marketing strategies, and post-launch support to enhance product performance and customer satisfaction.
- Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate:
- 5+ years in the video security industry
- Strong track record of successfully leading the delivery of hardware or software products
- Track record of continuous improvement across a product or service, whether internal or external
- Strong technical acumen with the ability to articulate complex solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Flexibility to attend late-night meetings with stakeholders in South Korea, where you will participate in discussions, provide updates, and collaborate with cross-functional teams during hours that align with the Korea time zone.
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally as required, up to 10%
Sitting/Travel: The role requires extended periods of sitting, including time spent traveling by car or plane, attending meetings, and working on a laptop or mobile devices while in offices, client locations, or remote settings. The position also involves periods of standing and walking during client visits and events.
