Machina Cognita Technologies (MCT) is seeking a motivated, mission-driven professional to take on a high-impact role as a Senior Software Engineer. This role will support the company’s development of products in the areas of collaborative autonomy, human-machine teaming, and autonomous assistants. These products are primarily early-stage R&D projects under U.S. government contracts. This position sits at the intersection of cutting-edge artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) development, edge computing, and real-world military application—ideal for someone ready to shape the future of defense innovation and commercial applications.

You’ll play a central role in both design and development of our AI/ML projects for both U.S. government customers as well as commercial customers. We’re especially looking for someone who either brings firsthand military experience and can serve as a subject matter expert to help translate tactical mission needs into technical solutions and/or has experience in the development of collaborate autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Database design and integration
• Supporting Field-based Test and Evaluation with customers
• Requirements gathering from end-users

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, or a related field
• 3+ years of relevant work experience
• Experience in Database Integration
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work across teams and disciplines.
• Active Secret or higher U.S. government security clearance (TS/SCI preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, or a related field
• Experience fielding and supporting client-facing product(s)
• Experience with Machine Learning development including Collaborative Autonomy and/or Large Language Models
• Served in leadership roles in the US military on active-duty status
• Experience writing proposals for the DoD or other government agency

Salary Range: $110k-$160k
