The Position

The actual title, once hired, will be RDT DIA R&D Site Partner Lead
- San Diego.
The IT Business Partner Lead is accountable for Business Partnering for the San Diego R&D sites across Carlsbad (Gen Mark) and Torrey Pines (Gen Mark/Lumira Dx). This role drives local value realization for both R&D and Site Services and demands a distinctive combination of informal people leadership, deep domain expertise, technical proficiency, and business insights.
As the San Diego sites move from an M&A integration phase to standard RDT operations, you will work alongside M&A integration leaders through the end of the year to ensure a smooth handover, while actively advising stakeholders through organizational change, coordinating complex technical backlogs, and driving alignment toward long-term Roche RDT standards.
The IT Business Partner Lead acts as the strategic liaison between RDT and local R&D organizations across Carlsbad and Torrey Pines, recognizing that supporting specialized local capabilities, unique instrumentation, and site-specific workflows is essential for the wider organization's success and competitive advantage in diagnostic development. The role operates across a multi-entity site ecosystem, guiding local environments through the final stages of M&A integration and establishing sustainable, standard operational models.
Job Responsibilities- Senior Partnering & RDT Site Coordination:
Collaborate with M&A leaders to ensure a seamless transition to standard RDT operations; act as the primary RDT liaison for site leadership; advise business leaders on technical debt and legacy Gen Mark app decommissionings, while safeguarding key operational milestones (such as the RP2 to RP3 assay transition) from an RDT perspective. - Hands-On Technical Execution:
Drive resolution of open technical backlogs in collaboration with domain experts (RCN network rollout and site infrastructure stabilization); facilitate system migrations from legacy domains and applications; manage technical site operations and local application inventories.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, Science, Business or related field. Master/PhD is a plus.
- 8 years of related experience in Project Management or IT Business Partnering or IT Integration with a Bachelor’s degree;
- or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.
- Senior experience in IT business partnering, technology consulting, or technical site management in life sciences/diagnostics.
- S trong stakeholder management skills with the ability to understand local site needs while balancing global platform strategies and organisational priorities and and driving business decisions through complex organizational change.
- Cross-functional coordination skill s, with demonstrated success managing complex dependencies across functions.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements (GxP or 21 CFR Part 11) and their impact on research technology.
- Familiarity with global IT service management practices (ITIL) and support models.
- Location & Mobility:
Ability to work flexibly across San Diego sites (Carlsbad and Torrey Pines) and participate in global planning sessions.
