Whatyou'll do
As a Viasat Supply Chain Program Manager, you will serve as a key leader for new product launches at Viasat, lead major subcontract efforts, and be an enabler of continuous improvement for the Procurement and Sourcing organization.
You will work closely with external suppliers and internal cross‑functional partners in Program Management, Contracts, Operations, Engineering, Legal, Finance and more to ensure high‑level supply chain performance. You will manage major subcontracts through all phases of a product’s lifecycle from contract execution, hardware design and development, ramp up through the end of production. You will act as a senior point of escalation for individual procurement contributors and be a key staff member of the Procurement Management team.

Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as the main focal point within supply chain for assigned products/suppliers while maintaining internal/external supplier relationships.
- Presenting to the Program Management Office (PMO) and executive leadership on the status and issues affecting schedule performance and program cost.
- Leading and driving Supply Chain initiatives to support business area strategies including, but not limited to, improvement in efficiencies, global scaling, business capture and execution, and responsive compliance.
- Coordinating and leading collaboration meetings with all supply chain functions (Procurement, Sourcing, Planning and Material Control) including alignment in integrated Sales & Operations Planning (SOP) cadences to align demand signals, supplier capacity commitments, and program execution priorities.
- Ensuring all supply chain commitments are met, plans are developed and carried out, and risks are mitigated for assigned products/suppliers across the assigned product/supplier portfolio, establishing measurable KPIs and tracking materials liability exposure to protect program cost and schedule.
- Facilitating effective supplier New Product Introduction (NPI) execution and ensuring the supply base can ramp up from design and development to production. This includes supplier resource planning, process development, capacity ramp up, and material clear to build. Supplier criticality segmentation and long‑lead material risk analysis are applied throughout the NPI lifecycle to prioritize resourcing and de‑risk sole‑source dependencies.
- Driving Supplier Design for Manufacturing engagement and material cost reduction activities, including should‑cost modeling, total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, and supplier‑enabled automation to drive structural cost improvements and manufacturing efficiency.
- Driving measurable supply chain improvements—benchmarked against industry‑leading performance standards— that exceed internal and external customer’s expectations.
- Providing proposal input and support.
- Providing comprehensive supply chain proposal support, including make‑vs‑buy assessments, competitive should‑cost modeling, supplier risk evaluation, and supply chain strategy development to strengthen business development and contract capture efforts.
- Driving supply chain digitalization and workflow automation, including ERP optimization and advanced analytics platforms, to eliminate manual processes, improve forecast accuracy, and enable real‑time supply chain visibility and data‑driven decision‑making.
- Ensuring full compliance with ITAR, FAR/DFAR, and applicable export control and cybersecurity requirements (e.g., CMMC) throughout the supply base, partnering with Legal, Contracts, and Security teams to maintain subcontractor compliance and protect program integrity.
