About the Role:

General Manager in Training:

This is an exciting opportunity to learn the ins and outs of running a successful Yoga Six studio under the guidance of an experienced General Manager. During your training period, you will shadow the current GM and gain hands‑on experience in all aspects of studio operations, from sales to team management, studio performance, and day‑to‑day operation. The training period is designed to be flexible and can be adjusted based on your progress and readiness to take on the full‑time GM position.

You will receive direct mentorship, develop critical leadership skills, and gain a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to manage and grow a thriving studio. By the end of the program, you will be fully prepared to step into the GM role with confidence and the tools to lead the team effectively.

General Manager:

The General Manager is the driving force behind the studio’s success, leading with confidence and setting the standard for excellence. You are responsible for all aspects of studio operations, including generating new sales, retaining members, hiring, training and developing your team of Wellness Advisors, and ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations. Your leadership directly impacts the studio’s growth and community, and you report directly to the studio owner.

You create a welcoming and engaging environment by providing superior customer service—helping new and current students choose the right classes, answering membership questions with expertise, and handling membership and merchandise transactions seamlessly. As the studio’s Brand Ambassador, both inside and outside its walls, you set the tone with professionalism, positivity, and an inspiring presence that reflects the Yoga Six brand.

  • Execute and manage the full sales cycle strategy and achieve membership sales targets
  • Lead generation, nurturing, conversion and retention
  • Develop a strong culture and community within the studio that is inviting to new students and current ones
  • Execute on the monthly marketing plan based on studio needs (new client acquisition, some events, contests, etc)
  • Develop a strong presence in the surrounding community and consistently create strategic partnerships
Studio Operations
  • Manage a team of 2-5 Wellness Advisors (your direct reports). Hire, train, and re‑train or make changes when needed.
  • Take ownership of maintenance issues, inventory management, and cleaning—both by addressing them personally and delegating as needed. Everyone is expected to contribute to keeping the studio well‑maintained and clean
  • Ability to adapt and problem solve quickly and efficiently
  • Strategically schedule your team to ensure that both the studio and your team members are set up for success
  • Partner with the Lead Teacher and owner to identify trends in attendance to optimize the teacher schedule
  • Consistently reach monthly membership goals
  • Manage the studio budget, including responsible spending. Help place supplies orders & coordinate with owner on retail inventory orders
  • Analyze data and create strategic responses to findings that support the business
Leadership
  • Manage the studio by example, consistently performing tasks at the highest level
  • Participate in studio and company‑wide meetings/trainings as needed
  • Continually coach all team members and give them appropriate tools and resources
  • Outgoing personality with a strong desire to provide great client service and sales experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in fitness membership sales, preferably managing a similar fitness studio/gym
  • Experience supervising people successfully
  • Background in health & fitness and passion for / knowledge of yoga is a plus
  • Experience with CRM Software such as Club Ready or Mindbody
  • Ability to excel in fast changing, diverse environment
  • Great communication skills: talking, writing and grammar
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to take 50,000‑foot view as well as get into the day‑to‑day details of studio management being both strategically proactive and reactive
