Manufacturing Technician

This role focuses on assembling, testing, and troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical capital equipment from sub-assembly through final test and system acceptance. You will start by learning sub-assembly processes and progressively take on full final assembly responsibilities, ensuring that every system meets stringent quality and reliability standards.

  • Assemble complex electro-mechanical capital equipment, sub-systems, mechanisms, and controls from sub-assembly through final assembly.
  • Perform functional and performance testing on equipment and sub-systems to verify quality, reliability, and compliance with specifications.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control issues, identify root causes of malfunctions, and implement effective corrections and adjustments.
  • Work from and accurately interpret assembly procedures, technical drawings, data sheets, specifications, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Set up and operate standard and specialized test equipment, including power supplies and oscilloscopes, to evaluate system performance.
  • Use hand tools, multimeters, calipers, and other measurement devices to assemble, inspect, and verify components and assemblies.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and assemblers to resolve technical problems and continuously improve assembly and test processes.
  • Document test results, issues found, and corrective actions clearly and accurately, using appropriate forms or software tools.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments regarding equipment status, issues, and progress.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned to support production goals and maintain a smooth manufacturing workflow.
  • At least 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience assembling, testing, and troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical capital equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand assembly drawings for mechanical and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical component drawings and apply them in assembly and troubleshooting activities.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics for wiring, power, and control circuits.
  • Ability to read and understand pneumatic schematics for systems using compressed air and related components.
  • Hands-on experience using general test equipment such as power supplies and oscilloscopes.
  • Proficiency using multimeters and calipers for measurement, verification, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, including wiring and assembly of electro-mechanical systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment using tools, test equipment, and technical documentation.
  • Comfort working with personal computer hardware and software for test, documentation, or troubleshooting tasks.
  • Strong written communication skills for documenting work, test results, and issues clearly.
  • Strong verbal communication skills for collaborating with team members and sharing technical information.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to work productively within a team of technicians and assemblers.
  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently and drive tasks to completion.
  • Experience working with IPC-related standards and practices in electrical assembly and wiring.
  • Background in both mechanical and electrical assembly within a manufacturing environment.
  • Comfort using a variety of hand tools and measurement tools in daily work.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Willingness to learn new systems, technologies, and processes as responsibilities expand from sub-assembly to final assembly.

This is a first-shift, Monday through Friday role, with standard hours of 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM and flexibility on start times. The position is based in a casual, comfortable dress environment within a brand-new building that provides a large, open workspace suited for complex assembly and testing activities. You will work in a mid-sized company setting alongside multiple levels of technicians and assemblers, from junior to experienced, using a range of hand tools, test equipment, power supplies, oscilloscopes, and computer-based tools to support manufacturing operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlsbad, CA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
