Shift Assembler – Medical Device Manufacturing

This role focuses on the hands-on manufacturing and assembly of medical devices, including catheter products, using microscopes and specialized tools in a cleanroom environment. You will follow regulated manufacturing processes, perform in-process inspections, and work closely with engineering and supervision teams to ensure every device meets strict quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Manufacture medical devices, including catheter assemblies, using a microscope and specialized tools in a regulated environment.
  • Follow and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Line Clearance requirements, Work Instructions, assembly methods, product handling methods, production drawings, Good Documentation Practices (GDP), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and all applicable safety requirements.
  • Successfully complete training on production tasks and apply the training consistently to daily work.
  • Read and understand travelers/routers, identify correct materials, and ensure proper traceability throughout the build process.
  • Operate production and inspection tools and equipment, including microscopes, EFD dispensers, UV curing systems, and other assembly equipment as required.
  • Perform equipment set-up, operation, and in-process inspection to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Complete all required production and quality documentation accurately, clearly, and in a timely manner.
  • Work directly with engineers and supervisors to ensure product integrity and quality requirements are met at all times.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop and refine process documentation and contribute feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Perform inventory counts and support material control activities as needed.
  • Use required safety equipment when performing lab and cleanroom work.
  • Receive and follow verbal instructions regarding daily duties and priorities.
  • Handle adhesives, including different types of Loctite, safely and in accordance with procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with cleanroom and production standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support production and operational needs.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production environment, or prototyping experience.
  • Prior experience with medical device assembly, preferably catheter manufacturing.
  • Experience working under a microscope for assembly and inspection tasks.
  • Prior cleanroom experience and the ability to follow cleanroom protocols.
  • Ability to understand and perform in-process inspections to assure workmanship and quality of in-process medical devices.
  • Proficiency in following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Line Clearance requirements, Work Instructions, and Good Documentation Practices.
  • Familiarity with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) in a regulated environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with assembly and manufacturing operations.
  • Strong hand dexterity and fine motor skills for detailed assembly work.
  • Experience using production and inspection tools and equipment, including microscopes, EFD dispensers, and UV curing systems.
  • Ability to use required safety equipment when performing lab and cleanroom work.
  • Effective communication skills to follow verbal instructions and collaborate with team members.
  • Attention to detail and a strong focus on quality and product integrity.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing catheter products is a plus.
  • Experience working with adhesives, including various Loctite products.
  • Experience in medical device manufacturing or similar highly regulated industries.
  • Comfort working in a startup-like environment with evolving processes and opportunities for growth.
  • Ability to adapt to different shifts and training schedules, including cross-training on other shifts as needed.
